The Massachusetts Mental Health Center (MMHC) seeks licensed, board-certified psychiatrists to provide psychopharmacologic treatment and clinical leadership in the outpatient clinic. The clientele are primarily adults cared for by the Department of Mental Health who experience a variety of difficulties including major mental illness, disruptions in attachments, trauma, poverty, substance abuse, homelessness, and involvement with the criminal justice system. Desirable qualifications include experience with the pharmacology of complex illness, psychiatric rehabilitation, and integration with physical health and wellness. Areas of responsibility can be tailored to the particular interests and expertise of the individual selected, but will involve clinical care, supervision/ teaching, administration, and program development. Seeking Medical Director for
Community Behavioral Health Clinic based in the Merrimack Valley

Vinfen is seeking a Medical Director for our Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CBHC) based in Lowell. Working a part-time schedule, the Medical Director leads a comprehensive medical team in the provision of community-based services within a continuum of care, for people and families impacted by mental health, substance use and co-occurring disorders. The Medical Director is responsible for the clinical and medical oversight and quality of care across all CBHC Programs and is an integral part of the development and management of a model designed to support individuals and families in the community, reduce use of emergence rooms for behavioral health, increase flexibility of service delivery through bundled payments, provide seamless access to outpatient, urgent and crisis interventions, psychopharmacology, Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) and increased use of social supports and community-based staff.

The successful candidate will have:

  • MD is required. Medical license and board certification in Psychiatry in Massachusetts required. Dual certification in Adult Psychiatry and other related areas, such as Substance Abuse or Child Psychiatry preferred.
  • DEA certification to prescribe medication required.

PSYCHIATRY POSITIONS

Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, a 650+ bed tertiary care teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School, is recruiting highly qualified staff psychiatrists. The Department of Psychiatry is a major teaching site for Harvard Medical School and the BIDMC Harvard Psychiatry Residency Training Program; positions will include opportunities for teaching medical students and residents and for faculty development. A Harvard Medical School appointment at the rank of instructor, assistant, or associate professor would be commensurate with the record of accomplishments. Opportunities exist on the following services:

1. AMBULATORY PSYCHIATRIST
This half-time staff position involves clinical care and opportunities to participate in the training of psychiatric residents. The clinical care involves psychiatric evaluations and ongoing treatment of outpatients in our general psychiatry clinic located within the medical center.

2. ADDICTION PSYCHIATRIST
This full-time staff position involves clinical care and opportunities to participate in the training of psychiatric residents in the Division of Addiction Psychiatry. The clinical care involves inpatient and outpatient consultations and ongoing treatment of outpatients in our Addiction Psychiatry clinic. Formal teaching and research are possible. Certification (or eligibility) in Addiction Psychiatry is desirable.
