 Supervising Psychiatrist

Job Details:

  • To provide psychopharmacological services to college students, clinical consultation to staff, and supervision for the clinical nurse specialists. 
  • Must have extensive knowledge and experience in psychopharmacology and behavioral therapies, with particular expertise in treating mood and anxiety disorders, learning disorders and ADHD, eating disorders, psychotic disorders, personality disorders, PTSD and substance abuse.
  • Experience working with diverse populations within a relational cultural framework, and familiarity with the psychological and developmental experiences of college students.
  • To work in collaboration with a clinical team of psychologists, social workers, clinical nurse specialist, as well as with graduate interns and trainees in our Clinical Training Program, pursuing graduate study in schools of social work and counseling and clinical psychology. 
  • Work in collaboration with the Newton-Wellesley Health Group clinicians and other departments as part of the Division of Student Life, as well as with colleagues in the community and hospitals that treat Wellesley College students. 
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be client-centered; be able to split the time over three days and be able to work in the early evening at least one day a week. 
  • Board certified or board eligible in psychiatry, five years of experience preferred; familiarity with electronic medical records and electronic prescribing.

Additional Details:

  • This is a 9-month position (September 1 to May 31) working 20 hours per week.

Beth Israel Lahey Health is expanding its Psychiatrists to consult to Primary Care.
 
Beth Israel Lahey Health is expanding its Collaborative Care program and broadening psychiatric services to its primary care network across Eastern Massachusetts. Hours are flexible with a minimal commitment of 2 hours per week. This is an excellent way to supplement your practice and provide flexible working hours. Consultations are done remotely and do not require regular travel to practice sites. 
 
Psychiatrists work as consultants as part of the Collaborative Care Model for Primary Care-Behavioral Health Integration. This evidenced-based program provides psychiatric consultative support to a primary care team including the primary care physician and a behavioral health clinician.
