Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, a 650+ bed tertiary care teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School, is recruiting highly qualified staff psychiatrists.  The Department of Psychiatry is a major teaching site for Harvard Medical School, the Harvard Longwood Psychiatry Residency Training Program, and the BIDMC Harvard Psychiatry Residency Training Program; positions will include opportunities for teaching medical students and residents and for faculty development.  A Harvard Medical School appointment at the rank of instructor, assistant, or associate professor would be commensurate with the record of accomplishments.  Opportunities exist on the following services with the possibility of combining work on different services to make a full- or part-time position:


This half-time staff position involves clinical care and opportunities to participate in the training of psychiatric residents. The clinical care involves psychiatric evaluations and ongoing treatment of outpatients in our general psychiatry clinic located within the medical center.


This half-time position includes clinical care, teaching, and supervision on a service that sees 2500 Emergency Department and 1000 Inpatient Medical-Surgical consultations annually.   Certification (or eligibility) in Psychosomatic Medicine is desirable.

Director, Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

An exciting opportunity for an experienced and dynamic leader to oversee the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Responsibilities include oversight of patient care in the outpatient setting, clinical consultation to the pediatric emergency department and pediatric inpatient services, provision of clinical care and teaching of medical students and trainees in psychiatry, psychology, social work, and mental health counseling. Opportunities are also available for research and child advocacy. The successful applicant will participate in the shaping of a child-centered, family-focused, culturally competent, community-linked child psychiatry program targeted at the needs of Boston’s most vulnerable children. Applicants must be board certified in child and adolescent psychiatry and have proven leadership ability. Research interest and experience preferred.

Medical Director, Adult Outpatient Behavioral Health Service.

This key administrative/clinical role provides critical leadership for our outpatient clinical and training programs and is a vital position in the medical leadership of the Department of Psychiatry. Qualified applicants will be board certified in psychiatry and have experience in a clinical leadership role and in residency and medical student training. Research interest and expertise preferred.

Junior Faculty Position in the Adult Borderline Center and Training Institute
McLean Hospital
Belmont, MA
The Adult Borderline Center and Training Institute at McLean Hospital invite applications from qualified individuals for an early career investigator in personality disorders research at the faculty rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor level in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. This investigator will be responsible for providing oversight of research in the Adult Borderline Personality Disorder services to further develop and shape a system of diagnostic assessment and clinical characterization of the clinical populations in the Gunderson Residence, Gunderson Outpatient Program, Mentalization Based Treatment Clinic, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) Clinic, and DBT for PTSD Clinic as well as modifications and improvements in the semi-structured interview assessments to establish comprehensive psychiatric diagnosis, with specific assessment of narcissistic personality disorder and paranoia. In addition, the investigator will also be expected to develop her/his individual federally funded program of research in borderline personality disorder.  Opportunities exist for developing strong collaborations within McLean Hospital and across Harvard Medical School. 
The position offers office and human laboratory space, affiliation with a large clinical research program, and research infrastructure support. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a competitive, independent, and largely externally funded research program. Atrius Health has full and part-time openings for BC/BE adult and/or child psychiatrists in multiple locations including the Metro Boston area, Metro-West and Merrimac Valley.
